This
is an Inn which has had many other names in its long history,
not as a hostelry but as a fulling mill, but this cannot be changed
whilst trees grow tall and the river runs. This alone makes one
want to go and see it. It is a super place run by John Hewlett
and his partner Stephanie, experienced landlords who have built
a great reputation for fine beers and excellent food. They employ
mainly local staff, some of whom are Welsh speaking, which is
a bonus for the regulars, and a joy for visitors who enjoy the
lilt of the attractive Welsh tongue. The old fulling mill on the
Avon Ysgethin has been working for centuries. It is only ten years
since it was turned into this delightful counrty pub. In the cosy
atomosphere you can taste real ale and real food too. There is
a patio overlooking the river and a children's adventure playground.
In the playground there is the old 'Pelton Wheel' which drove
part of the machinery and there is history all around.
